Become a Flight Angel

Your flight could help a rescue animal make the journey home.

Sometimes the distance between a rescued animal and a new beginning is a plane ride.

Who Rescued Who NS works with rescue partners to help dogs and cats in need reach Nova Scotia, where they can continue their journey toward foster care, adoption, and a loving home.

Travelers can play an important role in making those journeys possible.

What Is a Flight Angel?

A Flight Angel is a traveler who is already taking a scheduled flight and volunteers to help a rescue animal travel on that flight.

You don't need to plan a special trip just for us. When travel plans and rescue needs align, your existing flight may provide an opportunity for a dog or cat to reach Nova Scotia.

It is a simple act that can make an enormous difference to an animal waiting for the next chapter of their life.

How Does It Work?

If you have an upcoming flight to Nova Scotia, contact Who Rescued Who NS and let us know your travel details.

Our team will determine whether your flight may be suitable for an animal needing transportation and will explain the process to you before anything is arranged.

Every situation can be different depending on the animal, airline, departure location, and travel requirements. We will make sure you understand what is involved before you agree to participate.

Who Can Become a Flight Angel?

You may be able to help if you are:

  • Already planning to fly to Nova Scotia
  • Willing to have a rescue animal associated with your flight
  • Comfortable following the necessary airline and travel procedures
  • Able to communicate with our rescue team before and during the travel process

Even if we don't have an animal needing transportation on the date of your flight, letting us know about your travel plans may help us identify future opportunities.

Why Flight Angels Matter

Rescuing an animal is only part of the journey. Sometimes we also have to find a way to get that animal from where they are to where their next opportunity is waiting.

Transportation can be one of the biggest pieces of that puzzle.

By volunteering as a Flight Angel, you may help connect a rescued dog or cat with the foster family, adopter, or rescue support waiting for them in Nova Scotia.

Already Flying to Nova Scotia?

If you have an upcoming flight and would like to find out whether you can help, we'd love to hear from you.

Send us your travel information, including your departure location, airline, travel date, and destination airport, and our team can determine whether there may be an opportunity to match your flight with a rescue animal.
