Who Rescued Who NS began with a shared love for animals and a belief that every life deserves a second chance.
What started as helping a few animals quickly grew into something bigger. Through rescue trips, partnerships with local organizations, and the support of a compassionate community, Hannah and Becca have helped countless animals find safety, care, and loving homes.
Their work spans rescue, rehabilitation, transport, and advocacy—always with the goal of giving animals the opportunity to live the lives they deserve.

Hannah is a dedicated animal advocate with hands-on experience in rescue, rehabilitation, and transport. She has completed 10 rescue trips, assisted with two major dog flights into Nova Scotia, and volunteered at spay and neuter clinics in Eleuthera with Baark and in Nassau with Operation Potcake.
Known for building strong rescue partnerships, Hannah coordinates the connections that make each rescue trip possible. She also leads our social media and content creation, helping raise awareness and strengthen community support.
Locally, she organizes dog-walking groups, puppy yoga, and puppy Pilates fundraisers—creating spaces where people and animals can connect and thrive. Outside of rescue work, Hannah is an acupuncturist and proud dog mom to Lena and Luka, one of her special rescues from the Bahamas.

Becka is passionate about animals and the power of connection. Believing it’s important to follow your passions, she focuses on building community through rescue and compassion. Her love for travel has led her to become a dedicated companion and advocate for animals in need, helping bridge the gap between shelters and forever homes. Inspired to heal her heart and as many animals around her, Becka opened up her home in 2021 to fostering and assisting as volunteer events, collecting donations. traveling to Nassau to volunteer with Bahama Humane Society, Puppy Potcake Palace and recently with Baark on a spay and neuter clinic.
With a strong background in customer service and the beauty industry, Becka brings a tireless work ethic, empathy, and a people-first mindset to the organization. For her, every rescued animal restores hope in humanity.
Hannah McNamara of Who Rescued Who NS recently joined The Halifax Network Podcast to talk about the rescue’s mission and the work involved in saving dogs and cats in need.
In the interview, Hannah shares the story behind the rescue, the journey of bringing animals to safety, and the incredible impact that foster homes, adopters, and community support have on giving these animals a second chance.
We’re grateful to Chris Crowell and The Halifax Network Podcast for the opportunity to share the rescue’s story.
